Site maximized for Firefox 46+, Chrome 50+, Safari (9+ for OS X) and Opera 36+ (with Windows and other OS, included iOS).
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+ and Edge 25+ compatible; Apple iPad Safari for iOS 9+ compatible (except for the "Helps Quiz" Flash) in landscape view (no iPhone nor smartphones compatibility).

Javascript must be enabled and your browser should be updated to the latest version. This website does not use cookies (you can get the best experience on this website without cookies).

All sonic excerpts are MP3/MPEG4 files playable in HTML5 cross-browser, cross-platform audio and video embedded player.
Adobe Flash plug-in should only be required to play the "Helps Quiz". If your browser cannot natively read MP3 files, please read recommendations below about HTML5 and MP3 browser compatibility.

Recommendations (by Manuel Coíto) about MP3 browser compatibility:

Different browsers do not support the same media formats in their implementations of HTML5 audio (and video), mainly because the MPEG media formats are covered by patents, which unfortunately are not freely licensed.

Anyway, the non-freely licensed MP3 audio format (.mp3, audio/mpeg) which is used on this website is fully supported in HTML5 by Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and Opera for desktop computers. Idem by IE mobile and Safari mobile. In these cases, NO Flash player plug-in is required to make MP3 playable.

The MP3 audio format also may be potentially supported in HTML5 by Firefox, provided that the operating system furnishes an MP3 decoder, i.e. Windows Vista, 7, 8+ and 10 platforms (to avoid patent issues, support for MP3 is not built directly into Firefox on desktop).
